The mission of High Mountain Pollinators & Bees is to provide quality education for beekeepers and promote pollinator habitat

Often it is the lack of something that drives change…..

They had an idea.

Two beekeepers met on a cold winter day and realized their shared passion for beekeeping, their desire to learn and improve, and teach others about the magic of bees.

And so it began.

Learning courses were held. Beekeepers were tested by Sheldon Brummel from the Great Plains Master Beekeeping University of Nebraska/Lincoln. An apiary was opened for hands-on training and learning. A Team of like-minded people were formed and all helped to make a buzz at Old Bill’s Fun Run.

And so it shall BEE!

More flowers to bloom. More pollinators to pollinate. More beekeepers knowing how to keep their bees alive in these long high mountain winters.

We have work to do and we thank you for joining us on this journey!

Getting Help From Our Friends

Many generous people and groups have joined us in elevating our work to train beekeepers, to improve habitat by plant pollinator plants, and enhance public education. Find our partnerships at the tab below.

Open Apiary

Hold a Frame of Bees….

We are doing the waggle dance, thrilled about the positive learning experiences enjoyed over the 2022 summer months at our Lincoln County apiary! “Quote from one of our beekeepers”.

Hold a frame of bees and know the wonder that lies beneath your finger tips; the hexagon wax combs, the marvel of the tiny eggs, the glistening white pupae, and the very new fuzzy bee emerging to take up her role in this magnificent super-organism, the colony of bees in which she belongs.

We believe the Open Apiary concept is the finest teaching-tool for beekeepers. Seeing bees through others’ eyes, side by side over a hive, helps everyone learn.

This effort is about tiny things that we don’t think about often. We can learn from them. We need to look closer and understand.

Plants and Pollinators. Their reliance on one another is a lesson for us all.
